The Historic Landmarks Commission will meet next on May 8, 2006, in its offices in the Ratcliffe-Otterbourg House at 2100 Randolph Road, Charlotte, N.C.  The meeting shall commence at 6:00 p.m.  Anyone needing assistance should contact the Historic Landmarks Commission beforehand at 704-376-9115.

Special Note:  There was no quorum present at the meeting.  Consequently, the Committee will bring forth recommendations, not seconded motions.

a.  THE SURVEY COMMITTEE AGREED TO RECOMMEND TO THE HLC THAT THE VANCE HIGH SCHOOL CEMETERY BE PLACED ON THE HLC’S STUDY LIST AND THAT THE HLC PAY ONE-HALF THE COST OF A SURVEY AND RESEARCH REPORT.

b. THE SURVEY COMMITTEE AGREED TO RECOMMEND TO THE HLC THAT THE PHILLIPS HOUSE AND BARN, MATTHEWS, N. C.,  BE PLACED ON THE HLC’S STUDY LIST AND THAT HLC PAY FOR THE COST OF A SURVEY AND RESEARCH REPORT.

c.  THE SURVEY AGREED TO RECOMMEND TO THE HLC THAT $700 BE PAID FOR THE PREPARATION OF A SURVEY AND RESEARCH REPORT FOR THE WOODLAWN AVENUE APARTMENTS.

d.  The Committee agreed that the Clark House should be considered at the May meeting of the HLC. Click here to view Survey and Research Report.

4.  Projects Committee Matters.

The Projects Committee has not met during the last month.  The HLC will deal directly with any Projects Committee matters.

5.  Design Review Committee Matters.

The Design Review Committee did not meet during the past month, as there were no Applications For Certificates Of Appropriateness.

6.  Education Committee Matters.

The Education Committee did not meet during the past month.  The HLC will deal directly with any Education Committee matters.
