           Projects Committee Meeting

                     AGENDA

1. Chairman's Report: Louis Asbury

2.  Director's Report:  Dan Morrill

a. The George E. Davis House, 301 Campus Street, Charlotte.  Johnston C. Smith University and the Commission are sharing the cost of developing a report to assess the cost of upfitting the building for office use.  Dr. Morrill will explain the current status of the project.

b. Charlotte Fire Station Number 2, 1212 South Boulevard, Charlotte.  The one-year delay on demolition of the building will occur in May.  Dr. Morrill will explain the Commission's current involvement in the project.

c.  Dr. Morrill will explain the possible impact of County funding for Fiscal Year 2010-2011 upon the Commission's revolving fund.

3.  Current Project Status Review:  Bryan Turner, Stewart Gray, Patricia Nystrom

a.  Torrence Lytle School, 302 Holbrooks Road, Huntersville.

Structural Integrity has prepared a stabilization plan.  Bryan Turner will explain the contents of the report, and the Committee will also consider what action to recommend that the Commission take.

b.  White Oak Plantation, Hood Road, Charlotte.

Design Resource Group has prepared a proposal for master planning the site.  Bryan Turner will explain the contents of the report, and the Committee will discuss what action to recommend that the Commission take.   Click here for proposal.  The Committee will also consider realtors to list the property for sale "as is."

c.  Grier-Rea House, 7601 Providence Road, Charlotte.

Stewart Gray and Bryan Turner will present final additional work that might be performed to enhance the marketability of the property, e.g. improvements to upstairs bathroom, painting portions of the interior, and landscaping.

d.  Rozzel House, 11647 Rozzelles Ferry Road, Charlotte

Prospective buyers have requested that the demolition of the tenant house be delayed while they consider the prospect of purchasing the property.

e.  Pineville Buildings (316 and 330 Main St.).

The buildings continue to be marketed.

f.  McAuley House,  14335 Huntersville-Concord Rd, Huntersville

The house continues to be marketed.

 

g.  Younts House, 136 Main St., Pineville

The Commission has ordered an appraisal of the house.  The Committee will need to move into executive session to determine what recommendation it wishes to submit to the HLC regarding prospective purchase of the property.
