William Bratton House, ca. 1923
631 North Brevard Street
UTM 17 515124E 3898485N
This masonry home is significant as one of the
very few surviving historic homes in First Ward. With the development
of suburbs such as Eastover and Country Club Acres for Charlotte's white
citizens and McCrorey Heights for the city's black citizens, the
William Bratton house may have been one of the last substantial homes built
in the Uptown area. The house is also notable for its state of the
aret "fireproof" construction.
