Second Ward High
School Gymnasium. UTM: 17
514491E 3897000N Second Ward High School served the
African American community of Charlotte until 1969, when the school
closed as massive urban renewal demolished most of the surrounding
neighborhood. Only the gymnasium survives. In addition to
being an athletic facility, the gymnasium was also the main ceremonial
center for Second Ward High School. |
